Last Friday, September 20, 2019, the global Week for Future campaign for more climate protection began with global demonstrations.
All activists share a common goal: they demand more ambition from politics in the fight against global warming and the imminent climate catastrophe. Above all, according to the Paris Climate Agreement, global warming must be reduced to below 1.5 degrees compared to pre-industrial times.
From 20.09 to 27.09.2019 dozens of actions and events organized by municipalities and NGOs will take place throughout Austria. On www.klimaprotest.at you will find a detailed overview.
HIghlight of the Climate week: Earth Strike
Highlight of the Climate Week will be the big international demonstrations Earth Strike on September 27 for more climate protection.
During this week, Fridays For Future Vienna and numerous other civil society organizations are making the climate and environmental crisis more tangible. There are insights on different topics per day. These include public actions as well as lectures and discussions with dedicated and leading experts. The motto here is not only to inform, but to ask and discuss!
